A cheeseburger. A banana split. And a raspberry lime ricky or a root beer float to wash it down. There’s nothing quite like an old-time diner.
Take the kids on a fun, school vacation week adventure to the diner at Brothers Marketplace in Medfield! And after enjoying breakfast, lunch or dinner, let them choose a take-home treat at our new and nostalgic candy wall.
For breakfast, pair eggs any style with bacon and home fries. Order a Belgian waffle, buttermilk pancakes or French toast, and drizzle with real Vermont maple syrup. Choose a combo with eggs added to the plate. Or keep it simple with a yogurt parfait or oatmeal cup.
Skip lunch or dinner prep one of the days. The kids can choose their meal, such as a Kayem Old Tyme Frank, a burger or a grilled cheese. Satisfy the kid in you with the same thing they order, or indulge in a Niman Ranch premium, antibiotic-free Brothers Burger, topped with onion rings, French fries, bacon and cheese. If you prefer, go lighter with an all-white meat chicken salad sandwich or a veggie burger, with a side of sweet potato fries.
Top off your diner outing with an old-school banana split, complete with chocolate, strawberry and vanilla ice cream, strawberry topping, nuts, whipped cream and a cherry. Or have a Brothers Sundae with your choice of hot topping. All of our ice cream comes from Byrne Dairy in Upstate New York, made with cream from local family farms.
Before you go, give the kids a chance to choose some candy from our candy wall. Find jars of all sorts of candy favorites, including specialty chocolates, such as locally made bars from Goodnow Farms in Sudbury. Take a trip down memory lane by introducing your kids to the candy from your childhood. It’s been a while since you saw a Mary Jane, Pixie Stix or Charleston Chew!
