In 1984, Concord Teacakes began with two recipes. Out of a rented Elks Club kitchen, Judy Fersch created a heavenly chocolate cake and an almond lemon cake with such a sweet glaze and tempting aroma that swarms of bees would follow as she put the still cooling cakes into her station wagon. Today, their fresh and delectable tea cakes are made in West Concord.
