Cooking for the holidays

This holiday, delight your friends and family with a festive meal at home, featuring mouthwatering meat and seafood, special signature side dishes, and more.

Get creative with your own holiday main course at the center of the table.

In our meat department, select from antibiotic & hormone-free meats.

Pair a tender, slow-roasted Niman Ranch Semi Boneless Rib Roast with red wine au jus.

Slow cook a local roast from Boyden Beef in Vermont – raised on a high-grass diet on organic pastures. Rub your roast with one of our new Brothers Marketplace dry rubs, all locally blended and hand-packed, in flavors such as Chipotle Paprika and Honey Red Chili.

Roast, brine or smoke a Plainville Farms Whole Turkey, and serve it with mashed butternut squash and honey glazed red and golden beets from our kitchen.

Complement your meat with a salty taste of the sea. Oysters on the half shell make an elegant starter, and salmon fillet makes a beautiful main dish with rosemary sprigs & lemon wedges. Add grilled shrimp to your surf and turf dish, and heat it up with our blackening spice dry rub.

Make it a traditional dinner or brunch with a Roche Bros. Flame Glazed Honey Ham. On the plate, add asparagus with lemon and potato au gratin towers from our kitchen.

If you’re celebrating brunch style, complete your buffet with a baked French toast casserole with fresh Cheryl Ann’s Challah bread, layers of mascarpone and sprinkles of cinnamon and nutmeg. And choose from three varieties of quiche: Lorraine with bacon and cheese, leek and black truffle or spinach tomato.

Create some signature side dishes this year with our new organic and local mushrooms from Mousam Valley Mushrooms in Maine. Try the Forest Medley for a wild mushroom saute with butter, shallots and fresh thyme.

Serve traditional roasted chestnuts, either separately or mixed with the mushrooms. Cut an X into one side of each chestnut with a paring knife and roast them in a 425-degree oven for 15 to 25 minutes. Peel before serving.

Roast a rainbow of root vegetables with fresh herbs and olive oil. Combine your favorites, such as sweet potatoes, carrots, parsnips, turnips, onions, and beets.

Don’t forget the appetizers to keep everyone happy while everything is cooking! Offer flavorful dips from our kitchen, including 7-layer, spinach & artichoke, and buffalo chicken, with our own potato chips, made fresh in store.

Or serve up a local Vermont Cheese Board and a local charcuterie board with our own offerings hand crafted by New England Charcuterie in Waltham.

For dessert, visit our bakery for all sorts of treats, from scratch-baked cookies and brownies to mini-pastries from Montilio’s Bakery and more. And don’t forget the coffee! We proudly brew Armeno’s from Northborough in our cafes, and offer it by the pound for you to brew to keep all of your guests merry and bright.

Merry Christmas from all of us at Brothers Marketplace!
